Yemen’s Houthi movement are conducting an active campaign against commercial ships transiting the region, using missiles, drones, UAVs, RPGs, ballistic missles and other weaponry. Crew members have died as a result of the attacks. Framed by Houthi leadership as an enforced naval blockade targeting specific vessels, particularly those with Israeli connections, the campaign has impacted more than 40 nations, caused marine traffic to divert from the route and has a marked impact on global trade.
